What Is PrepareSoCal 

PrepareSoCal is an American Red Cross multi-region campaign designed to address the needs of individuals and families to prepare for disasters, small and large, by providing tips, tools, and training, and to promote community resiliency with a focus on Southern California’s most vulnerable communities.

The Red Cross Responds to a Home Fire or Other Disaster Every 8 Minutes

That is why we launched the Home Fire Campaign, which aims to reduce the number of fire-related deaths and injuries by 25 percent by 2020. Since October, 2014, we have:



Conducted 2,045 in-home visits


Reached 9,329 youth with preparedness information

Created 1,417 evacuation plans

Created 1,417 evacuation plans


Installed more than 6,344 smoke alarms
